Gretel taunts the witch as she burns but realises that her reaction has stirred something unpleasant within her. The music is white noise processed with finely tuned EQ circuits that follow the motion of flames licking up from a fire.
The second repetition attempts to explore how Gretel's words would sound to someone being burned alive through melting flesh and losing consciousness.
You would take the earth from under my feet
You would take the stars from my sky
You would take my beginning, my end
My flesh, my soul, my life...
Now it is I cast you into the flames
Black soot does cover my mind
And the fires of hell forever will burn you
But I'll join you there in good time
